Dr. Locke was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and grew up mostly in and around the Halifax-Dartmouth area. He obtained his dental education at Dalhousie University, Halifax, N.S. graduating in 1979 following 2 years of an undergraduate BSc. program, also at Dalhousie. He practiced in North Sydney, N.S. for 4 years, and then in 1983 relocated to Ottawa to take a position in public health providing general dental care. He had lived with his parents in Ottawa from 1964 to 1969 and had fond memories. In January 1997 he opened a solo private practice in the Hog’s Back Plaza at the intersection of Prince of Wales Dr. and Meadowlands Dr. in Ottawa.
He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), and the Ottawa Dental Society (ODS). He participates in several study clubs and enjoys learning about contemporary dentistry by attending continuing education courses.
He enjoys activities in the outdoors. The dental office is located close to some parks where nature blends with the city. Some of his interests are bicycling, cross country skiing (mostly skate skiing style in the beautiful Gatineau Park), and running. Computers and the internet have been a fascination for many years.
